Taman Ponderosa | Customized Life & Leisure

This double-storey detached residence in Taman Ponderosa is a testament to sophisticated, modern living. The design is defined by clean lines, layered textures, and clever spatial planning that prioritizes the homeowner’s unique lifestyle, especially their leisure and social habits. We focused on utilizing different materials to create visual depth and a consistently sleek, personalized urban ambiance.

Foyer & Living: Layers of Texture and Light

Upon entering, a modern gray shoe cabinet immediately establishes the home’s aesthetic. The foyer is visually rich, featuring a suspended gray stone-texture settee combined with a light gray storage unit, using a deliberate mix of materials to create depth. Further inside, a minimal gray and white marble laminate foyer cabinet provides essential storage and a sleek welcome, enhanced by LED strips that create a modern, high-visibility ambiance.

A highly personal touch is the repurposed existing window, transformed into a relaxing corner. This area features a custom nook with a settee, underneath storage, and a soft fabric cushion wall for casual comfort. The ceiling cove light track subtly improvises the curtain track, bathing the nook in an even, peaceful light. The main living space is anchored by a striking marble-like laminate TV feature wall with a strip of mirror, while vertical wall lights enhance the visual experience. A double-layer grounded console provides volume and depth without overpowering the space.

Dining & Bar: Intimate and Commercial Chic

The dining space remains openly accessible from the living area, a decision made intentionally to not overshadow the owner’s required bar counter. The bar itself is the dramatic centerpiece. A minimal, modern display cabinet serves as a backdrop near the staircase, complete with LED strips and contrasting materials to create a lively, commercial-like environment. A minimal counter table at the center is perfect for casual gatherings, while the black ceiling and light strips visualize an intimate and personal atmosphere for leisure.

Functionality is key: a hidden door with a fluted panel offers discreet access to the store area, and the drinks preparation station is equipped with ample storage, featuring layers of drawers and overhead display shelving. Opposite the bar, a custom-built, marble-like texture dining table for six, incorporating geometrical elements, introduces elegance and a modern touch, complemented by an organic seater and minimal pendant lighting.

Kitchen: Clarity Through Light and Function

The kitchen and dining areas are physically separated yet visually connected by a glass block wall, which allows natural light to penetrate from both sides, improving visual clarity. An aluminum glass door provides access. The window placement is maximized to ensure daylight diffuses the kitchen space, enhancing the airy environment.

The combination of off-white kitchen cabinets and a white quartz tabletop makes the space feel spacious and organized. A stainless steel laminate backsplash elevates the modern concept. A tall unit cabinet is expertly curated to fit a two-door fridge, built-in microwave, and oven, showcasing excellent space planning. A wide island table in the center encourages smooth circulation. The laundry area is cleverly centralized with a skylight opening to bring in maximum natural daylight, with tall storage cabinets achieving a good workflow with no hassle.

Master Bedroom: Seamless Modern Retreat

The master bedroom is proposed in soft cream shades to offer comfort and calm. The design features a full-height feature wall that includes a hidden door, serving as the subtle entrance to the walk-in wardrobe and bathroom. The vertical alignment of solid color and marble-like laminate creates a harmonious, modern ambiance. The walk-in wardrobe area includes a dressing table and display cabinet. A full-height mirror creates a spacious visual and reflects light, while the minimal white dressing table provides efficient, decluttering storage.
