This Double Storey Semi D in Maris, Desaru, is designed as a serene retreat, utilizing a consistently calm wood tone and minimalist features to create a welcoming, warm, and visually soothing environment. The concept is a refined blend of modern practicality and subtle classic elements, ideal for peaceful coastal living.
Foyer & Living: Warmth and Contemporary Flair
The exterior first introduces the home’s palette with its warm wood tones and minimal landscape design, featuring clean plants for an inviting atmosphere. This warmth continues inside, where the main entrance features a half-height foyer shoe cabinet in wood grain texture. An art piece acts as a visual anchor, contributing to the entrance’s sophisticated feel.
Moving into the living area, a classy wood ambiance is immediate. Warm LED strips along the window edges illuminate the space, while the use of blinds curtains allows for precise control of daylight penetration, lending a clean, crisp look to the interior. A special wood texture TV feature wall serves as the main backdrop, adding a contemporary twist. The wood theme is continued with a wood window panel that maintains visual connection with the overall palette. Architectural interest is subtly added by a geometric pattern above the ceiling. Wide circulation paths ensure the transition to the dining area feels large and airy.
Dining: Centralized Function and Clean Lines
The dining space is centered around a highly efficient design: a central kitchen island combined with the dining table. This offers maximum space for leisure gatherings, food service, and daily use. The wood dining table paired with a white top contributes to a minimal and organized ambiance. A reachable black modern sink near the island is perfectly styled to serve both aesthetic and practical purposes. A sculptural pendant light provides elegant, even illumination without distracting from the clean setting. Open shelving on the left side reinforces the minimalist approach and promotes space clarity.

Given the limited kitchen space, we enriched the area with a backsplash featuring white and black motif tiles, which visually expands the area and reduces the sense of crowding. Wood shelving perfectly matches the bottom cabinet laminate, empowering the classic concept and ensuring the overall look is cohesive and timeless.
Master Bedroom: Serene Backdrop and Simple Function
The master bedroom is a combination of modern comfort and classic touch. A grey shade bedhead design offers a serene backdrop and a warm mood. The soft padding of the bedhead reduces visual noise and contributes to emotional comfort. Practicality is maintained through a simple open wardrobe and dressing table, designed to accommodate daily usage while perfectly balancing aesthetics with functional needs.
