This interior design project for La Kiddy Preschool transforms a Double Storey Semi D into a dedicated sanctuary for early childhood development. The core concept prioritizes a safe, calming, and organized environment, achieved through a soft palette of wood tones and pastel colors. Every design choice is intentionally crafted to foster a sense of adventure, cleanliness, and emotional well-being, reflecting the mission to be a true “home away from home” for the children.

Study Area: Calmness and Creativity
The main study area is immersed in a calm ambiance designed to support learning. A central feature is the minimal home-shaped structure proposed near the window, thoughtfully designed to evoke feelings of security and familiarity. To subtly teach organization and hygiene, a kid-height cabinet is placed along the wall for accessible storage, maintaining a neat and clean look.
A pastel green feature wall with warm LED light serves as a dynamic memo or “wall of fame.” This wall also includes unique, circle-shaped storage that enhances the soft and calm setting. Loose study tables and cream-colored benches ensure the space remains flexible and friendly, while the wide window provides an excellent source of natural light and improves visual visibility.

Small Classroom: Defined Zones
A smaller classroom is clearly defined from the main study area by a big glass window and an arch door, enhancing clear separation. This room is equipped with study tables and a functional white board. The interior is covered in an off-white wall and soft wood tone, which maintains a spacious, clean, and open look.

Staircase Area: Adventure and Imagination
The staircase area is transformed into a vibrant hub of development and play. A combination of pastel green and blue softens the hard structure and improves the visual aesthetic. Space utilization is maximized with a proper additional room tucked under the staircase, perfectly proportioned for children’s activities. The ceiling features star light decorations and cloud structures to evoke a “cloud nine” ambience.

Crucially, a climbing obstacle is integrated beside the staircase, serving both as a functional activity wall for children’s development and a striking feature wall that conceals a hidden door. Different shapes of glass are tailored onto the hardscapes to achieve a harmonic contrast and elevate the sense of exploration. Wall decorations, such as tree figures and a lawn, create a visual of adventure and an emotionally resonant environment, illuminated by an LED stripe to add dynamism.

Eating Room & Kitchen: Learning Life Skills
The design includes a dedicated eating room to integrate daily life activities into the educational curriculum. The room is equipped with furniture proportional to the children’s size, which is essential for comfort and safety. A large table surrounded by numerous chairs accommodates the capacity needed for supervised activities. The efficient zoning layout ensures natural movement circulation for both kids and teachers, with a practical sink and side cabinet for storage.

The main kitchen, where food preparation is conducted, is separated from the eating space by a semi-enclosed arch door with a curtain and a nice wood border. The kitchen layout prioritizes workflow efficiency and features a large window to allow natural lighting and encourage ventilation, complete with bottom cabinet storage and cooking utensils.
