For this double-storey semi-detached residence in Harp Tebrau, our design intention was to craft a space that is both soulful and intimate, embracing a modern, refined Bohemian aesthetic. The entire house is a seamless blend of comfort and style, prioritizing fluid movement and a layered palette of white and blue tones that foster a sense of warm welcoming.
Foyer Entrance and Living: Flowing Comfort
The spacious, open-plan layout immediately offers circulation fluidity and a natural pathway from the foyer into the living room. By maintaining uncluttered pathways, the space feels breathable and immensely comfortable. The Bohemian essence is captured through a strategic layering of a white and blue color palette, with wood and solid colors anchoring the ambiance. This dynamic contrast provides both depth and drama, ensuring the space is cozy without being visually heavy.
Kitchen and Dining: Refined Textures
The transition between the living and kitchen areas is harmoniously divided by an aluminum glass door, which maintains clear visibility while zoning the space. In the kitchen, the soft gray color of the cabinetry is chosen to enhance the feeling of spaciousness and comfort for food preparation. The off-white walls are paired with diamond checkered floor tiles, acting as a refined feature that beautifully embraces texture. A white island and dining table are strategically placed to blend seamlessly between the wall and the distinctive flooring. The entire color palette is emotive and cohesive. Above the dining area, industrial pendant lights give an artisanal, raw feel while casting a soft, atmospheric glow.
Patio: A Pocket of Relaxation
Clarity of movement is extended to the exterior, where a tiled path connects the indoor and outdoor spaces. The patio serves as a pocket relaxation space, furnished with comfy seating and a minimalist coffee table. To soften the hardscape, a strip of artificial turf is introduced along the wall, bringing in natural visual appeal. The materials enrich the exterior look while remaining practical. Visually, the pergola and roofing structure define the space architecturally, and subtle ambient wall sconces are proposed to guide night movement and enhance the evening mood.
Upper Outdoor Balcony: Shaded Serenity
The semi-enclosed upper balcony has been elevated into a viewing terrace, designed to embrace openness and visual refinement. An intimate corner is shaded by a modern white pergola roof, creating a perfect spot for reading, meditation, or small gatherings. The frosted glass roofing allows soft, filtered sunlight to enlighten the space, preventing direct heat and glare, making it ideal for day and night use. Furthermore, white louvered dividers on the right side enhance privacy from neighboring units while allowing natural airflow circulation, shadow casting, and diffusing light.
Master Bedroom & Bedrooms: Tranquility and Well-being
In the master suite, the concept is elevated with bright paint colors defined by wood and light-colored furnishings. Plants are strategically placed to enhance the Bohemian concept and harmonize the space. The warm-toned flooring provides contrast and comfort underfoot. Similarly, green and pink shades are introduced in the children’s rooms to support emotional well-being and tranquility. Linear furniture arrangement and vertical storage solutions ensure the rooms remain uncluttered and functional without overcrowding.
