Kempas Utama | A Home for a Growing Family

This project was a true collaboration with a highly organized and detail-oriented 3-Storey Semi-D homeowner. She came to us with a clear vision, having meticulously compiled all her style preferences in a digital drive. With her mind sharp and her goals well-defined, we quickly understood her priority: to focus the budget and design effort on the rooms for her two children, while still creating beautiful and functional common areas. The overall style leans toward a serene palette of twilight tones and soft whites, creating a home that feels both cozy and sophisticated.

Foyer: A Grand Entrance

For a foyer larger than a typical unit, the key was smart organization. We consolidated all the essential functions on the left side of the entrance, creating a dedicated area for shoe changing, hanging coats, and storage. This streamlined approach maximizes the sense of space, making the foyer feel both grand and welcoming. The clever use of wood and white proportions ensures the area feels expansive and uncluttered.

Living & Dining Room: The Power of Negative Space

In the main living area, we intentionally opted against a traditional feature wall. Instead, we used plaster design to define different zones, allowing for a greater proportion of white space. This creates a fluid and effortless sense of flow throughout the room, celebrating a clean, uninterrupted aesthetic.

Kitchen & Laundry Room: Lightness and Efficiency

The kitchen was designed to feel as light and airy as possible, a necessity for a smaller space. We focused on a balanced color palette and opted for suspended cabinetry to avoid a heavy, crowded feel. We also made sure to plan for a dedicated laundry room, a must-have for any modern home. While it’s tucked away, we paid close attention to every detail of its storage and workflow. We also elevated the washer and dryer, a simple design choice that proves incredibly practical by saving your back and making laundry a breeze.

Parents’ Room: Functional Harmony

For the parents’ room, we designed a space that is both versatile and functional. The layout expertly integrates areas for watching TV, a home office, and ample storage, all without sacrificing the room’s serene atmosphere. This meticulous planning ensures the space remains tidy and serves multiple purposes seamlessly.

Children’s Rooms: Nurturing a Young Mind

For the children’s rooms, we left no need unmet. The design goes beyond just a place to sleep, incorporating dedicated zones for reading, homework, and storage. We carefully considered the little owners’ interests and planned the lighting down to the smallest detail to support their activities and growth.

Master Bedroom: Simple, Not Plain

Finally, the master bedroom’s feature wall is the centerpiece of the walk-in wardrobe area. Its design is a study in simplicity and texture, proving that a simple aesthetic can be incredibly rich and layered. The subtle details are what make this space truly unique.

And a guest room too.
